The heat sink is machined to fit a standard 12mm diameter diode module. Does not come with diode, driver circuit or other laser components. Can be used with P/N SL-DDM1 diode & driver module, for an SL-I host upgrade, or in your own custom build. We recommend that the driver wires be approximately 1" long for the diode module to fit properly. Not recommended for use with the other SL diode and driver modules because the driver wires are too long and can get trapped between the heat sink and pill unless extreme care is used during assembly. Does not work with the SL-CFA1 Conical Focus Adapter, but an extended length focusing ring is recommended because the heat sink is recessed within the host. Designed for use with two rechargeable RCR123A or disposable CR123A batteries, or a single 18650 battery depending on diode and driver used.
4/17/12: Conical Focus Adapter P/N SL-CFA1 added to the “Laser Accessories” page. The conical focus adapter is based on an original design made famous by LPF member "FlaminPyro". Our version of FP's conical adapter is precision-machined from aircraft grade aluminum and is intended for use with our stainless steel laser host assembly with the extended and tapered copper heat sink (SL-SS2LHA), and the stainless steel host option for the laser parts bundles. The focus adapter is designed specifically to work with a 405-G-1 lens, but may also be used with a standard 3-element lens by recessing the diode module within the heat sink. There is approximately a 1/32" gap between the focus adapter and the host body when using a G-1 lens focused to infinity and the diode module is flush with the end of the heat sink. This gap may be reduced by slightly recessing the diode module within the heat sink. Clear anodizing coordinates well with the brushed stainless steel finish of the host.
3/25/12: Extended Length Focusing Ring, Clear Anodized P/N SL-EFRC added to the "Laser Accessories" page. The extended length focusing ring is precision-machined from aircraft grade aluminum and is designed to fit standard 9mm diameter laser lens assemblies. The heat sink is machined to fit a standard 12mm diameter diode module. Does not come with diode, driver circuit or other laser components. Can be used with P/N SL-DDM1.4 or SL-DDMV diode & driver modules, or in your own custom build. We recommend that the driver wires be approximately 1.25" long for the diode module to fit properly. Will not work with the SL-DDM1 diode and driver module because the driver wires are too short. Designed for use with two rechargeable RCR123A or disposable CR123A batteries, or a single 18650 battery depending on diode and driver used.

3/24/11: "G-1" high-performance lens assembly P/N SL-G1L added to the "Laser Parts & Assemblies" page. This is the legendary "G-1" lens you may have heard about. These handmade single-element AR coated glass lens assemblies are significantly more efficient at light transmission than traditional 3-element laser lenses, and can boost the output of your 445nm laser by 10-15% or more! Best for when you want the absolute maximum power and brightness for burning and close-up work. Note: The G-1 lens provides somewhat higher beam divergence due to the single-element design, and the laser "spot" will not be as "clean" as with the standard 3-element lens. In addition, this lens will not work with the SL-LS1 external lens spring because the lens must be threaded nearly all the way into the diode module for proper focus. Use teflon tape to adjust the fit in the module instead.
