Description of Product Options
Heat Sink Material Option
Standard 6061-T6 aluminum or an optional copper alloy heat sink. The copper alloy used has a thermal conductivity of 355 W/m-k which is over 2.1 times that of aluminum, and will allow longer duty cycles without overheating the laser diode.
Goggles Option
Choice of standard 190-540nm Eagle Pair OD4+ laser safety goggles, or an optional "slip over" style for those who wear prescription glasses.
Focusing Ring Option
Standard nickel-plated brass ring approximately 5/32" long, or an optional extended-length ring precision-machined from aircraft grade aluminum. The extended length ring is nearly 1/2" long with a knurled outer surface and allows easier focusing without burning your fingers. The outside diameter is sized to fit commonly-used protective lens caps. A taper is machined into the output end of the ring which gives it a "rocket nozzle" appearance. Anodizing color matches our anodized heat sinks.
Diode Module Option
Standard nickel-plated brass, or a solid copper option. The copper alloy used has a thermal conductivity of 355 W/m-k which is over 3 times that of brass, and will allow longer duty cycles without overheating the laser diode. This copper diode module is included standard in the Survival Laser II 1.8-2.0 watt laser parts bundles.
